About This Course

Veterinary Technicians are vital members of every veterinary team. The role of the credentialed veterinary technician is varied and includes everything from anesthesia induction and monitoring, client education, cleaning surgical instruments, hospital cleanliness, inventory, and patient nursing. Veterinary medicine is facing a growing technician staffing crisis. Part of this crisis can be attributed to compassion fatigue and burnout, part to salary complaints, and part to overall job satisfaction. How can managers/owners help staff to grow, learn, and be empowered to work at their highest level of education?  By doing so may keep them in their jobs and increase practice income.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify three potential reasons for staff turnover
  • Identify two items that can encourage staff to stay
  • Explain the process used to empower staff
  • Describe the importance of setting expectations
  • Describe the steps to developing critical thinking

Certification Requirements

Students must complete the video lesson and also pass a short multiple-choice quiz with a score of 70% or higher. For your convenience, all CE certificates will be available to access anytime within your PetDesk CE University portal account; recipients can download and/or print these PDF certificates to submit to their region's board for accreditation.
